Update on the measures in force as of 1 July

Since the start of the conflict in the Middle East last March, several European countries have introduced measures aimed at mitigating the impact of soaring fuel prices (particularly diesel) on consumers and professionnals. Whether through reductions or suspensions of excise duties in Spain, Italy, Croatia, Hungary and Slovenia, or VAT cuts in Spain and Poland, the amounts refundable to transport operators have changed significantly between early March and the present day.

Working directly with the tax authorities in these countries, Eurovat monitors variations on a daily basis.

The current rates are also published on our ‘VAT reclaim’ and ‘Diesel tax reclaim’ pages.
